Editorial Policy & Standards

How we check facts, fix mistakes, use AI, make money and decide where not to promote gambling.

Quick Take

  1. Every fact is checked against a source before it goes live; unsourced claims are dropped, not softened.
  2. We make money from affiliate commissions and paid placements, and we label paid placements.
  3. We do not promote gambling where it, or its advertising, is banned.

Who We Are

Cocktailspins is an independent iGaming and crypto media site run by Tamás Horváth. We are a member of the Gambling Portal Webmasters Association and hold its Seal of Approval. We publish country guides, reviews, explainers and Worldwide iGaming News.

How We Verify

Before anything is published, every law, date, threshold, figure and quote is checked against a source. We use this order of preference:

If a claim cannot be sourced, we remove it rather than soften it. We separate what is confirmed from what is only claimed — for example, ransom demands made by attackers. Our own analysis is written as opinion (“in our view”), not as fact. Every news story lists its sources and links to them in the text.

Corrections

Mistakes happen. When we find one, or a reader reports one, we fix it promptly. If a correction changes the meaning of a story, we add a dated note at the end of the article. Report errors to management@cocktailspins.org.

Use of AI

We use AI tools to help with research, drafting and creating original graphics. AI does not decide what is true: every fact is checked against its source and every page is reviewed by a human before it goes live. Our images are original graphics; we do not use third-party logos or photos without a licence.

How We Make Money

Cocktailspins earns affiliate commissions when readers sign up with some operators through our links, and some brands pay for placements on our pages. Paid placements are labelled as Featured Partner or Sponsored. News stories and our Regulation Tracker are not for sale.

Where We Do Not Promote Gambling

Where online gambling or its promotion is banned or criminalised, our pages explain the law and do not list or recommend operators. As of October 2026 this includes Brazil, India and Bangladesh. We do not target players in Slovakia. Our content is for adults aged 18 and over, and only where gambling is legal for them.

Responsible Gambling

Gambling should be entertainment, never a way to make money. If it stops being fun, help is free and confidential: BeGambleAware and GamCare. Read how we assess operators in our Responsible Gambling Score.
