The UK Gambling Commission has published a £900,000 regulatory settlement with L & L Europe Limited, which runs seven websites. The Commission found an unfair withdrawal term, extra manual reviews that delayed payouts, and gaps in money laundering and safer gambling controls.
According to the UK Gambling Commission, L & L Europe Limited paid £900,000 under a regulatory settlement. SBC News adds that the breaches ran from October 2024 to October 2025, that the company cooperated with the review and that an action plan is in place.
| Area | What the UKGC says |
|---|---|
| Withdrawals | A term allowed only one withdrawal request at a time, with no further request until the first was authorised. The Commission considers this unfair under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. For some customers every fifth or tenth withdrawal was reviewed manually, which led to requests for extra information before payment. |
| Anti-money laundering | Risk controls relied mainly on financial thresholds and sampling rather than customer risk factors and profiles. The company did not follow its own customer due diligence procedures, including for newly opened bank accounts and for funds not evidenced as coming from employment, business income or savings. |
| Social responsibility | Safer gambling alerts, for example for time spent gambling or failed deposits, were active on some sites but not across the whole group. There was no process to assess how effective the customer interaction approach was. |
The Commission says the company runs seven websites and names three of them; we do not repeat the brand names here because the case concerns the operator’s controls, not one site.
📌 In our view: withdrawal terms are where most player complaints start, and this is a regulator treating a payout term as a consumer-law issue rather than a marketing issue. The “one withdrawal at a time” wording is easy to miss in a long terms page, and it is the kind of rule that quietly slows a payout.
💡 What this means for players: before depositing anywhere, read the withdrawal section of the terms for limits on how many requests you can make at once and for any manual review that could add days. A site that advertises fast payouts but reviews many withdrawals by hand is slower in practice. Our withdrawal speed guide explains what to check, and the UK-specific rules above apply to UK-licensed operators.

The settlement concerns a UK-licensed operator. Other regulators set their own rules, but withdrawal terms are worth reading everywhere.
